A young man was brutally murdered over a land dispute in Samada Ward-11 of Saurbazar police station area of Saharsa district. While his elder brother was seriously injured. The deceased has been identified as Chandan Kumar, who lived with his family in Delhi and had come to his village on the occasion of Durga Puja.
According to the information, late on Thursday night, neighbor Dinesh Mehta and his associates attacked Chandan Kumar’s house over a land dispute. The miscreants attacked Chandan with rods and sticks, due to which he suffered serious injuries. When Chandan’s elder brother Suraj Kumar came to intervene, he was also beaten badly. Chandan died on Friday during treatment in critical condition, while Suraj Kumar is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The family members of the deceased have accused Dinesh Mehta and his associates of murder. This dispute was already going on and at the time of the incident the miscreants took the opportunity and attacked. The family claims that there was a dispute going on between the two parties regarding two bighas of land, which turned into a violent incident.
On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem. One accused is being detained and interrogated, while the search for the remaining accused is going on. Saurbazar police station incharge Prabhakar Bharti said that the matter is being investigated and soon strict action will be taken against the culprits.
